Antoine LeCoultre founded his workshop in Le Sentier in 1833, and today every Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is designed, made and assembled under one roof at the Manufacture there. Over its history the Maison has created more than 1,400 calibres, which is why it is often called the watchmaker of watchmakers.

The Reverso was launched in 1931 to survive polo matches: the case swivels and turns over so the glass and dial are protected. Its Art Deco lines made it one of the most recognizable watches in the world, and the reverse side is still often engraved or used for a second dial.

It's the Maison's in-house testing program, introduced in 1992 with the Master Control collection. Movements and finished, cased watches are tested for up to six weeks in conditions that reflect everyday wear, checking positions, power reserve, temperature, movement and water resistance.

The Polaris collection takes its inspiration from the Memovox Polaris of 1968, a large diving watch with an alarm that gave divers an audible signal when it was time to surface. Today's Polaris family includes date, chronograph and other sporty models; we'll confirm the water resistance of any specific reference.

The Atmos draws its energy from changes in air temperature. A sealed, gas-filled capsule expands and contracts with the temperature and winds the mainspring; according to Jaeger-LeCoultre, a change of just one degree Celsius gives about 48 hours of running time, so it needs no batteries and almost never needs winding.
