History: Founded in the 1920s, the European Watch and Clock Company (EWC) was a joint venture between Cartier and Edmund Jaeger, one of the principals of Jaeger-LeCoultre. Many of Cartier's finest timepieces during the 1920s and 1930s feature EWC movements, built in Jaeger-LeCoultre's manufacture in Le Sentier, Switzerland.
